Radicoida Unica on HIP 87621

HIP 87621 was shrouded in mystery for a long time. It gained widespread attention in 3311 due to the disappearance of Terri Tora[1] and the subsequent discovery of unusual exobiological readings from long-range scans.[2]

Following mounting pressure from the three superpowers and the general public, the October Consortium granted exclusive access to licensed Commanders on 13 Nov 3311.[3] Access remains denied to civilian, corporate, and government entities.[3]

As a part of a Community Goal, Commanders delivered exobiological data to Vista Genomics at the asteroid base Exogene Sciences in HIP 87621.[4] This data confirmed a new species of flora called Radicoida unica on several planetary bodies.[4] The Radicoida unica has unique bio-chemical properties that are being researched.[4]

The Battle for HIP 87621

On 27 Nov 3311, the powers issued a call to arms for a military campaign to secure exclusive control over Radicoida unica in the 49 systems.[4] The powers issued adversarial statements. A spokesperson for Denton Patreus stated: “Imperial interests cannot allow rivals to dictate the future of HIP 87621. Order must be maintained, and only Imperial governance has the authority to do so.”[4] A staff member of Nakato Kaine said: “Members of the Alliance will not sit idle while bullies seek to snatch a legally claimed system by force. We will defend equal access and resist attempts at domination.”[4]

Allied, Federal, Imperial and Independent powers deployed their fleets to preserve their interests and freedom from superpower control of the 49-system enclave around HIP 87621.[4] Analysts noted that this is the biggest military mobilization since the Second Thargoid War.[4] The winning power will benefit from the first application of the new technology.[4]
