Between normal bounty vouchers and the more special combat bond vouchers combat in conflict zones can be a profitable venture.

During times of civil war the various factions may hand out combat bond missions through the bulletin board which call for the destruction of  opposing targets in conflict zones (referred to in combat missions as Warzones). For each destroyed ship combat bond vouchers are rewarded and which, in turn, can be redeemed for credits at any faction-aligned station in the star system.
The following table gives an overview of the fixed rewards for redeeming combat bond vouchers which depend for the most part upon ship type. In general it goes that heavier ships yield higher rewards.

A combat mission with a conflict zone (warzone) as target type

Conflict Zone (Signal Source)s are temporary warzones that occur wherever factions are waging civil war against each other. Conflict zones come in two types — low intensity and high intensity — depending on the size of the ship spawn.

Upon entering from supercruise conflict zones are randomly populated with NPC fighter ships of the warring factions and players can choose to fight for a side by setting the preferred faction in-game in the Systems panel under Functions.

Apart from normal bounty vouchers for wanted ships, players have the unique opportunity to collect combat bond vouchers in conflict zones if they choose to side with a faction and battle the opposition. These combat bond vouchers can be redeemed for credits at any station in the system.

During times of civil war the various factions may also hand out special combat bond missions through the bulletin board which call for the destruction of opposing targets in conflict zones (referred to in combat missions as warzones).

In more recent news GalNet reveals Quivira to be the center of major conflict and therefore a potent source for conflict zones in and around that system

Conflict zones are rarer and more difficult to locate than resource extraction sites since they only appear in systems where a conflict between factions occurs. Any station marked on the system map with a State such as War, Civil War, or Civil Unrest is guaranteed to have conflict zones.

The GalNet news feed accessible when docked at stations usually reports on which star system is currently the center of major conflict. It is worthwhile to follow up on other star systems in the general for they usually wind up in tumult as well.

Notes

 • During supercruise conflict zones show up automatically as locations in the Navigation panel if the player is close enough with the ship.
 • For some reason conflict zones are referred to as Warzones in the in-game descriptions of combat missions.
 • Almost all NPCs spawning in conflict zones are fighters aligned with either of the warring factions.
 • A list of current conflict zones is constantly being gathered by the community on the Info Limpet website.
