Inside a Conflict Zone

A Conflict Zone (Signal Source) is a location where two factions within a system are actively fighting. While a civil war is active in a system, the various factions in and around the system will hand out missions through the Bulletin Board that require the destruction of a number of ships found within a conflict zone.

Players that enter normal space at these locations can choose which faction they would like to temporarily represent to fight against the opposing faction's ships. For each opponent the player kills combat vouchers are rewarded to the player which can be redeemed for credits at any station in the system. Between bounties and combat vouchers, fighting in conflict zones can be a profitable venture for players who are skilled in combat.

The prize of combat bounty vouchers differs depending upon the ship type. Heavy fighters and small nimble fighters are worth more than most other ships. The table below shows voucher prizes for each ship occuring within a conflict zone.

Ship Prize (Cr)
Eagle Mk. II 4,000
Empire Fighter 2,000
F63 Condor 2,000
Imperial Clipper 22,000
Cobra Mk. III 8,000
Viper Mk III 10,000
Asp Explorer 14,000
Vulture 18,000
Python 26,000
Anaconda 36,000

Notes

  • Conflict zones automatically appear (lockable) in the Navigation panel when the player's ship is close enough to a spawned zone.
  • Conflict zones are referred to as a "Warzone" in mission descriptions.
  • Almost all NPCs that spawn in conflict zones are combat NPCs aligned with one of the two warring factions.
