A Conflict Zone (Signal Source) is a location where two factions within a system are actively fighting. While a civil war is active in a system, the various factions in and around the system will hand out missions that require the destruction of a number of ships found inside a conflict zone.
Players that enter normal space at these locations can choose which faction they would like to temporarily represent and fight against the opposing faction's ships. For each opponent the player kills the player is rewarded with a combat voucher which can be redeemed for credits at any station in the system.[citation needed] Between bounties and combat vouchers, fighting in conflict zones can be a profitable venture for players who are skilled in combat.
