A Conflict Zone (Signal Source) is a location where two factions within a system are actively fighting. These locations spawn in a system where the controlling minor faction is in a state of "Civil War".[1] While a civil war is active in a system, the various factions in and around the system will hand out missions that require the destruction of a number of ships found inside a conflict zone.
Players that enter normal space at these locations can choose which faction they would like to temporarily represent and fight against the opposing faction's ships. For each opponent the player kills the player is rewarded with a combat voucher which can be redeemed for credits at stations controlled by the faction the player represented. Between bounties and combat vouchers, fighting in conflict zones can be a profitable venture for players who are skilled in combat.

- Will be displayed (and lockable) in the Navigation panel when the player's ship is close enough to a spawned zone.
- Conflict zones are referred to as a "Warzone" in mission descriptions.
