Bank of Zaonce

Template:CorpsInfobox Template:Quote The Bank of Zaonce is a galactic banking institution founded and headquartered in the Zaonce system. It is the primary institution responsible for regulating and storing the universal currency: Credits (CR). This is used by all commanders and other people to buy ships, equipment, fund insurance on ship rebuys, ship modifications, cargo and trade commodities. Zaonce is considered systemically important as the most successful and largest bank in the galaxy by market capitalization. It is classified as a megacorporation. Any severe instability at the bank could ripple across the galactic financial system.

History

Early in Zaonce's colonial history, in 2682, a former Federation banking executive named Herschel Derrey moved to the colony and set up a family banking business. He and his extended family spread their business around the world. In only a decade and by 2693 they had earned a reputation as a level headed and reliable financial establishment. Derrey's daughter Emily brokered a loan on an undisclosed, but sizeable sum of credits to an up and coming spacecraft manufacturer named Faulcon Manspace in exchange for stock options. Six years later, when the Viper was unveiled, profit rolled in and the stock options for Faulcon Manspace suddenly became vastly profitable to her family. Buoyed by this financial victory, Derrey took over several other banking concerns on the world until his corporation was the sole financial establishment on the planet, although operating under different brands. They adopted the name Bank of Zaonce in 2718.

3305 political scandal

In May 3305, Alliance politician Elijah Beck accused Alliance President Gibson Kincaid of receiving illegal campaign funding from the Bank of Zaonce. Subsequently, an investigation by Alliance Interpol and the Wallglass Investigations Agency revealed that a senior director at the Bank of Zaonce had illegally diverted assets to bankroll Kincaid's re-election campaign, alongside admiral Frederick Yamamoto's involvement in a treasonous conspiracy and assassination plot.

On 7 June 3305, a senior director of the Bank of Zaonce was implicated in the illegal diversion of bank assets to the re-election campaign of Alliance President Kincaid. Kincaid was also exposed as the mastermind of a far-reaching conspiracy to establish himself as the supreme ruler of the Alliance. On 13 June 3305 Kincaid was impeached by the Alliance Assembly. Alliance Interpol arrested him, as well as the unnamed senior Bank of Zaonce director and several other conspirators, on 13 June 3305, and charged them with treason, murder, and corruption.

Services

The bank provides consumer and private banking, corporate finance, ship and cargo insurance, private equity, and wealth management across human space, acting as a primary financial institution used by commanders and others.

In-game presence

You cannot physically walk into a branch or manually deposit money. However, your entire credit balance in the upper right corner of your HUD is structurally backed and managed by Zaonce.
