The Nomad is a small utility SLV produced by Faulcon DeLacy.[1] This is the first Ship-Launched Vessel (SLV) and the first flyable vessel with an interior. Early access for ARX began on 30th June 2026.[1][2]
Overview
The compact design makes it highly maneuverable to easily explore planetary terrain.[3] The skids and small landing footprint enable it to easily land on rough terrain near places for exobiology.[2][3] The Mk II Biological Scanner enables the detection of biological signals from the cockpit.[3] It has nimble thrusters and a rapid spool-up capability.[3] The main ship stays in orbit or can be dismissed via the ship menu. It can fly seamlessly between the planet surface and space, but it lacks an FSD so this takes a long time.
The Nomad is also useful as a personal dropship for settlement missions. It excels at low-altitude reconnaissance, bypass anti-aircraft defenses and land directly in the middle of hostile settlements. However, it cannot transport other commanders and it cannot dock at a starport or outpost.
The Nomad has 2 gull-wing doors on the sides and 1 ramp at the rear of the interior. This enables fast disembarking and re-entry.[3]
The Nomad purchased via an early access ARX bundle has infinite redeploys. If bought for credits it will have a limited number of redeploys before requiring to be restocked at a market.

Development
A description with concept art of the Nomad was unveiled by Frontier on 2 June 2026.[2]
Notes
- This is the first flyable vessel with a ship interior. You can seamlessly walk between the exterior and interior when landed.
- The main ship can be dismissed via the in-game menu so the Nomad is untethered.
- You can launch the ship in orbit of a planet, but traveling to the surface takes a long time.
- If the Nomad is destroyed you lose all exobiology data.
