Missing Prison Ship Discovered Adrift in Redonesses System
Multiple sightings have been reported of the missing prison megaship EVE-597 with system authorities confirming that the vessel has suffered damage.
Pilots inspecting the Riker-class prison ship noted disabled defence turrets and a significant quantity of drifting debris.
"This doesn't look like a mis-jump to me," stated one Commander over local comms. “More like an ambush.”
When Vox Galactica approached The Independent Detention Foundation for comment, a spokesperson briefly acknowledged that a "disturbance" had taken place on board EVE-597 during the transit window. The spokesperson declined to offer any further details at this time.
Pilots have been advised to remain extra vigilant as the Clan of Redonesses maintains a firm grip on the system, prompting questions as to any possible involvement between the lawless clan and EVE-597's arrival. The Foundation asks onlookers to keep a safe distance from the prison ship until a full investigation has been completed.

Vodel Reveals New SRV Rhino

File:Vodel Reveals New SRV Rhino.png

Vodel, the manufacturer of the Scarab and Scorpion surface recon vehicles, has announced its latest addition – the SRV Rhino.

According to press materials received, the Rhino is currently the largest available SRV and comes heavily armoured. As a result of its extra weight, it sacrifices speed for superior grip, allowing it to traverse harsh planetary terrain.

Due to its size, the new vehicle can only be deployed from a Large Vehicle Bay fitted in compatible ships.

"We're also extremely excited to announce a joint venture between Vodel and Wreaken Mining," said Owen McKenna, CEO of Core Dynamics.

"As a result of their recent research and development, the Rhino will come equipped with deployable mining rigs for planetside mining as standard, and an optional refinery module to process materials on site."

The Rhino is now available as an early-release purchase and will later transition to wider shipyard availability. Template:GalNetLinks

Wreaken Calls for Surface Mining Support Tests

To test its new deployable mining rig, Wreaken Corporation has called for independent pilots to help complete field trials.

Dr. Ben Curtis, Chief Geologist at Wreaken, stated:

"We're excited to not only test the rig's patented mining laser technology but also verify which materials it can extract from a variety of planetary body types."

"In order to conduct accurate tests, we're also opening up these field trials to pilots willing to laser mine asteroids for comparative yield analysis."

He added that it was a result of the direct cooperation with Vodel for the release of the new SRV Rhino that placed the deployable rig in the hands of intrepid miners so quickly.

"The Rhino is the first of its kind in this new class of SRV. We know buyers are going to have a lot of fun taking this across terrain they found tough before." added Owen McKenna, CEO of Core Dynamics.

All independent pilots willing to take part in the initiative should head to the Ega system and register their interest at Metz Enterprise. Template:GalNetLinks

Federation Condemns Ongoing October Accords Exclusion

File:Community News Feed 24.png

President Felicia Winters held a conference today condemning the continued exclusion of the Federation from ongoing research into Radicoida unica.

Speaking directly from the White House at Olympus Village, Mars, she addressed the press stating that Federal military analysts confirmed the coalition under the October agreement now posed a threat to security.

"The evidence presented to me has concluded that those involved with the October Accords pose a credible threat to the Federation," she said.

"For whatever reason or method, the use of the research into Radicoida unica has solely been focused on weaponising the flora. We can only assume that, as the Federation was left out of the Accords, we are now a target."

Winters ended the press conference with a stern warning against any attempt of aggression.

"The Federation will not tolerate any attack on our sovereign way of life, and any use of force will be met with the strongest of responses." Template:GalNetLinks

Increased Traffic Near Prison Ships Sparks Concern

File:Community News Feed 8.png

Governing authorities of several star systems have reported unusually high traffic around prison reformatories during recent inmate transfers.

Known affiliates of local pirate factions have been spotted flying in formation near the prison ships, but so far have not engaged with local security forces or prisoner transports.

"Although no direct action has taken place, the pattern and frequency of their appearance suggest that these criminal elements are observing inmate transport movements," a spokesperson for The Independent Detention Foundation remarked to Vox Galactica. “Given that many of the identified pilots have seen the inside of our cells at some stage, it’s unusual to be so brazen in their activity."

"For now there has been no conflict with these vessels, and pilots are complying with directives to maintain a minimum distance. We're working closely with local authorities across our fleet itinerary to ensure there are adequate security forces in place to deter any escalation." Template:GalNetLinks

SRV and Surface Mining Trials Deemed Resounding Success

File:News Image settlements 1.png

Vodel confirmed in a joint press statement with Wreaken Mining that recent early release trials of the new Rhino SRV had been a huge success.

Telemetry data received from independent pilots taking part in the recent initiative showed that the new surface vehicle performed across even the roughest planetary terrain.

"We're extremely proud of the Rhino and its capabilities." said Owen McKenna, CEO of Core Dynamics.

Dr. Ben Curtis, Chief Geologist of Wreaken Mining, added "The amount of minerals received as a result of the new surface mining rig was unprecedented,"

"My research has been proven, and I cannot wait to see what this new technology will yield in time."

With the trials now concluded, both Vodel and Wreaken hope that the Rhino and the rig will usher in a new era of surface mining.

The Rhino with the mining rig included as standard are currently available for exclusive purchase initially and will transition to standard shipyard inventories at a later date. Template:GalNetLinks

Prison Ship Reported Missing After Failing Scheduled Transit

File:Community News Feed 5.png

The Independent Detention Foundation confirmed yesterday that Riker-class Reformatory EVE-597 had failed to report in following its scheduled jump.

The prison ship successfully jumped from the Nones system but has not arrived at Gliese 506.2. System authorities confirm that no signs of debris have been detected.

The organisation said that the vessel EVE-597 has been in continuous service for several years and holds a prisoner transit contract covering four confirmed waypoints across independent space listed as Nones, Gliese 506.2, Evenses and Chematja.

Authorities in all four systems have confirmed that the vessel has not been identified since the report.

A spokesperson for the Foundation said that they're treating the disappearance as "concerning" but assured that there should be no cause for alarm should anyone locate the vessel on their travels.

"EVE-597 has a good record and a good crew," the spokesperson said. "Catastrophic mis-jumps are vanishingly rare. We're confident that everything will be under control." Template:GalNetLinks
