The Dredger is a type of Bulk Cruiser Megaship. They scour the galaxy for salvage to sell or repurpose, and after stripping their quarry clean, they use the large intake and grinder mechanisms mounted on their bows to break up ships, structural fragments, and even asteroids into manageable pieces for further processing. Many Dredgers are run by insular clans who live aboard their ships and develop their own eccentric micro-cultures over the course of decades and centuries.

Notes
- Dredgers were planned content for Elite Dangerous: Horizons The Return (2.4), and appeared in the 2.4 beta, but were never released. Frontier Developments has yet to provide an explanation for their absence, but one Dredger, The Scriveners Clan Dredger, was finally found in the game on April 10, 2021 as part of the search for the Hesperus.
