The Fer-de-Lance is a heavy combat ship that handles almost identically to the Viper Mk III despite being much larger, but has improved weapons capacity, slightly less severe power management issues, and much better shields and armor. The Fer-de-Lance's hull is a bit more resistant to smaller weapons than other ships of its class.[1]
The Fer-de-Lance and the Anaconda are the only two ships capable of mounting the class 4 Plasma Accelerator.
