Structure needs improvement, and contains content that belongs on separate pages. The pre-release newsletter information should have information gathered from the quotes and added to the article instead with citations. The Engineers table should contain brief information and not everything they do - that belongs to their own wiki-page. The article is poorly structured and should be re-structured similar to other wiki articles to have a consistent and natural flow. How Crafting with Engineer's Works
The engineers are NPCs located only on planet surfaces in their planetary bases (Meaning only players with the horizon expansions may access them). In total there are 30 engineers with only 5 immediately known. Each engineer is capable of upgrading a specific type of module, sometimes even giving a special effect (see Engineer's weapon special effects page).
In order to be able to craft anything, a requirement must be fulfilled for the engineer to accept you (for example, Tod "the blaster" Mcquinn requires you to hand in 100,000 bounty credit (not normal credits)). Afterwards you get access to tier 1 of the engineer's crafting blueprints, with every craft increasing the engineer's level until the player gains access to the next tier of upgrades of that engineer.
Material are required by the engineer to upgrade anything on the player ships. Each blueprint specifies which materials are needed, and how to get them (either from a planetary surface or from destroying ships). Different engineers seem to require different materials, meaning not all materials gathered can be used by the same engineer.
IMPORTANT when an engineer is upgrading a module, you will see the exact outcome. At this point you may either choose to accept the changes, or discard them. IF you choose to discard the changes, any previous engineer upgrade on that module will remain (so you do not need to worry about losing a special effect), the materials required for the blueprint WILL BE USED, and your engineer level WILL INCREASE (meaning you can level an engineer to the next tier by crafting blueprint and denying all of them, which is useful if you prefer to keep your original configuration).
Favors: it is possible to decrease the level progressing with an engineer for a guaranteed special effect on the module.
