With A rated Thrusters you would have a Boost speed of 330m/s, wich is actually not bad.
But unfortunately most of the Pirates are either Vipers or Cobras and sometimes Clippers aswell.
With all of those 3 being very fast, the only one that's gonna mass lock you is the Clipper with a factor of 12 and it has a base Speed of 306m/s with E-rated Thrusters and a boost speed of 388m/s... (i won't even start on higher Rated Thrusters)
Having low shields aswell (even with boosters), the Type-7 will probably always have trouble getting away from a Clipper and will have to take a beating most of the time.
P.S. Mind that what i said is purely based on stats and i have no experience with Freighters, but "on paper" it doesn't too look well.
