== Parameters ==
* The first unnamed parameter is the affected page title.
* <code>concern=</code> gives the reason for the proposal. <code>reason=</code> is also accepted.
* <code>discussion=</code> can identify the actual local discussion page. By default, the notice links to the affected page's talk page.
 
Review the proposal and the discussion before notifying an editor. A contested proposal needs discussion rather than automatic deletion. For a completed deletion, see [[Project:Deletion review]].
* Provide the name of the article as the first unnamed parameter. This is the only required parameter. It will be automatically wiki-linked.

* <code>concern=''message''</code>: You can provide a reason for the proposed deletion. If one is not specified, the template will attempt to auto-detect the reason based on the PROD tag on the page. It will automatically be bolded and indented.
* <code>nowelcome=yes</code>: Suppresses {{tlx|First article}} on empty pages (see below).
* <code>nothanks=yes</code>: Suppresses "Thank you" message when {{tlx|First article}} is used.

This template incorporates {{tlx|First article if new}}. As a result, if you use
{{tlc|Proposed deletion notify}} on a talk page that does not yet exist (i.e., new user), a {{tlx|First article}} message will be inserted before the Proposed deletion notify notice itself. You can provide a <code>nowelcome=yes</code> parameter to {{tlc|Proposed deletion notify}} to suppress this behavior. This template also accepts the <code>nothanks=yes</code> parameter, and passes it to {{tlx|First article if new}}.
