A single player game will now require an internet connection in order to receive data and updates from the servers. Every transaction made, such as trading goods, will require a connection and will keep the player's game updated alongside the shared universe. This has caused a significant amount of backlash from members of the community, many of whom denounce the developers decisions and claim to have backed the game solely for the sake of offline play.
