One commander is like a drop in the ocean. You need quite a few commanders to raise [[influence]]. Even so it will takes a long time, just look at the Dukes of Mikuun and Lugh for Independance. Both movements have a lot of commanders and still not been able to flip the system to their favorable faction and currently there isn't a system that has been flipped by the help of commanders, as far as we know.
