Due to the symmetrical nature of Coriolis stations it can be difficult to find the [[Docking Bay|docking slot]]. To remedy this the [[HUD#Target Hologram|target hologram]] displayed when targeting the station has arrows pointing towards the station's entrance. It is possible to line up the approach vector with the front of the station while in supercruise using the hologram to gauge position, allowing a pilot to drop from supercruise facing the station's entrance.

Aside from the hologram, an alternative method of locating the entrance is to observe the starport's axis of rotation after arriving. The entrance will always be located at the end of the axis of rotation that spins counter-clockwise when you are facing the starport. In addition, the rear of the station has red lights in the corners, while the front is lit by green lights.

=== Damage ===
As with other types of star port, Coriolis stations were susceptible to heavy damage from attacks by Thargoid forces. Initially these were limited to stations in nebulae surrounding the bubble, however this changed after the the failure of the Proteus Wave lead to a full invasion of human space. If not completely forced offline by an attack, the stations would retain emergency level services and provide missions to aid in evacuations and clear attacking Thargoid crafts. Such damaged or disabled stations would require large quantities of commodities to be repaired, once Thargoid forces were ejected from their local system.

Of note, a damaged Coriolis station - Wakata Station in HIP 23716 - became infamous as the first station/system to repel a Thargoid Invasion during the first weeks of the war<ref>Galnet News Digest - 16 Dec 3308: Beating Back the Thargoids - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpcvKZBMWwY</ref>.
