Boost speed is the speed a ship travels when the boost function is activated. This accelerates the ship past it's maximum normal speed capabilities. Boost is useful for that extra bit of speed when you need it, like when pursuing a fleeing target, or escaping from danger yourself.
The maximum boost speed of a ship can only be achieved by pressing the boost button.
Boost speed cannot be engaged until the engine capacitor is at least 70% charged (i.e. 7 or more of the bars in the engine capacitor are filled).
Different ships have different maximum boost speeds, currently ranging from 200 to 500 m/s.
