This information is based on ships identified in development diary videos or mentioned by name by David Braben or Frontier Developments.
The Beluga Liner, which is quite long, is a passenger ship which visually looks like it will hold lots of passengers.. Passenger ships will most likely be used for contract missions to earn CR or Reputation.
