The Imperial Courier is armed and very well [[shield]]ed for its small size, making it a great and evasive fighter in combat. In terms of agility it ranks somewhere close to the [[Viper]], but its shields, when upgraded, are roughly in the range of the Vulture and some laser-heavy Fer-de-Lance loadouts thanks to a better power curve that allows easier use of shield boosters. It has better yaw, pitch and roll speeds than the Viper but slightly weaker lateral thrusters. Its top boost speed is roughly in the same range when fully equipped, but lightweight versions can easily exceed the Viper's speed cap. The Viper retains boost velocity longer, however, and can boost more frequently.

In terms of agility it ranks somewhere close to the [[Viper]], but more than makes up for this by having twice the shields, and the power supply and utility points to mount shield boosters that take it well beyond that, up into the range of some Vulture or even Fer-de-Lance loadouts.
