This index is adapted from Wikipedia. Examples and linked guidance may describe its processes; check that each template and its instructions apply here before using it.

This page provides an index of templates used within Elite Dangerous Wiki, many of which convey messages; they are grouped into topic-specific headings. For information on what templates are and how to use them, see Help:Template.

For navigation templates rather than notices, see navigation templates. For stub templates (used to flag articles as incomplete and needing significant expansion), see stub types on Wikipedia. For some examples of message templates, see Project:Template index/Examples. For examples of combined message boxes, see combined message boxes.

Using this page

The bold links at the top of each cell lead to detailed pages which describe the templates in that section in detail and explain how and when to use them.

If you cannot find the template you are looking for, please click on the section headers that seem most relevant, since there may be templates for a particular usage covered on the detailed pages, but not listed in the table below.

If you cannot find the template you need, browse all local templates or ask for help on the relevant template talk page. See the template guide for local examples and advice.

You can also browse the local template directory.

Can improvements be made easily to a page?

Before placing cleanup templates on a page, it is worthwhile to cast a critical eye over the page to determine whether you can make the improvements easily, thus removing the need for a tag, avoiding double-handling, and improving the page more quickly.
