Unfortunately, there is not much you can do currently other than begging Frontier Developments customer service for your ship back. At some point Frontier may add the ability to sell off other ships you own to pay for the rebuy cost, but this will only help if you have multiple ships that are worth any value. This is why many advocate that players keep at least 2 times rebuy cost of a ship in reserve so as to avoid this situation. Additionally, avoiding doing community goals outside of PVE dedicated groups and solo mode will also help as you will not be targeted by other players. That said, you do not lose your rank progression, already made contributions to a community goal, any owned ships besides the destroyed one, or anything other than unclaimed bounties/exploration data/normal missions if you can not afford to rebuy the ship. Granted losing a high value ship due to being unable to pay the rebuy cost is a big blow to your financials, but between the more profitable missions you can take due to your progress so far and by completing community goals, you should find that it will not take as long to get back to where you were as it did when you first started the game. This is especially true if you have not been selling off your previous ships as you progress to bigger and better ships, as they will easily make more credits per hour than the basic sidewinder.
