Usage
{{Too many sections|date=November 2026}}
This template can also take an optional second parameter if only part of an article is affected. For instance:
{{Too many sections|section}}
A caution: Do not apply this template to stub articles whose sectioning may provide structure for growth over time. Sections tend to be filled out over time, so in these cases they should be tagged with {{Stub section}} instead and left to grow.

This template generates a tag to indicate that the article, or a section of the article, has too many sections.
| Parameter | Description | Type | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Affected area | 1 | Text to replace the word "article", usually "section"
| String | optional |
| Month and year | date | The month and year that the template was placed (in full). "{{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}" inserts the current month and year automatically.
