A hyperdiction is an interdiction that occurs while a ship is travelling through hyperspace, a higher-dimensional region in which travel between star systems at superluminal speeds in possible. At present, only Thargoid Interceptors are known to possess technology capable of interdicting ships in hyperspace, while human vessels can only interdict ships travelling in Supercruise via a Frame Shift Drive Interdictor module. Hyperdictions are known to occur in proximity to the Pleiades Nebula and Witch Head Nebula, where Thargoids are most concentrated, and when jumping to any systems that are experiencing an Incursion.

Hyperdiction is when an Unknown Ship interdicts another ship while traveling through hyperspace. It's in a higher-dimensional region in which travel between star systems is possible at superluminal speeds (many times the speed of light).
When a hyperdiction occurs, the hyperspace corridor generated by the affected ship's Frame Shift Drive is forcibly collapsed by one or more Thargoid Interceptors. The ship is then pulled out of hyperspace on the edge of the system it was jumping away from, and the pursuing Interceptors release a powerful shutdown field that completely disables the ship's systems before scanning it. If the ship is carrying any Thargoid-related Commodities, such as a Thargoid Sensor, the Interceptors may become hostile and attack if the items are not quickly jettisoned. Otherwise, the Interceptors will depart the area without any further interaction, and the ship can resume its journey.

Humans only have the technology to interdict ships while travelling with supercruise in a system.
Notes
*Player testing has found that collecting a Thargoid Sensor and jumping to hyperspace at least once while carrying the Sensor permanently toggles a hidden "marked" effect that applies a 20% hyperdiction chance in systems in the Pleiades and Witch Head Nebula.
*Hyperdiction can be predicted as soon as a jump starts (before the "HYPERSPACE CONDUIT UNSTABLE" message appears) by checking whether the ship is visibly shaking upon entering hyperspace. If it is, the jump will be performed as normal with no hyperdiction taking place. If the ship is visibly still at first, a hyperdiction is imminent.
*After HIP 22460 incident and start of 2nd Thargoid War the hyperdiction may occur in every invasion region. It is usually systems under attack, presence and taken by alien forces. Thargoid vessels there is always hostile and will attack you regardless your state and actions.

It has occurred around Pleiades and near the Maia system. It doesn't require an unknown artifact in your cargo hold.
