'''Bot requests''' is for approval of bot tasks and proposed trials. Describe what the bot will change, how it will be checked and how its operator can stop or undo mistakes. Seek agreement on a limited trial before running it, then report the results for a human decision on further use.

The existing [[Project:Bots|Bots policy]] applies. Record all its requirements in the request: a bot account separate from the human operator's account, a public source code link, evidence of independent review and the names of everyone with account access. Stop the bot if it makes unexpected edits or an administrator requests a pause.

Task or trial approval is separate from granting the technical bot flag. Under the configured rights, a bureaucrat or operator can grant bot rights. Administrators cannot grant them by virtue of administrator rights alone. Neither a successful trial nor a discussion outcome automatically grants rights or promotes an account.
