{{xmark}} '''Do not place this template in a section all by itself.'''

{{xmark}} '''Do not place this template in a section containing columns.'''

This template is usually placed at the start of the [[WP:EL|"External links"]] section near the end of an article. If this section is absent, place it at the start of the last section (e.g. "References", "See also").

On [[WP:DAB|disambiguation pages]], this template should be listed above other text, but, per [[WP:ACCESS]], below any cleanup templates, images, infoboxes or navboxes.

See [[Wikipedia:Wikimedia sister projects#Where to place links]] for more information and alternatives.
