{{Always substitute}}

A [[Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace/Single-level templates|single-issue user warning]] with the same goal as {{tl|Uw-copyright}}, but with [[WP:DONTBITE|gentler wording]] for new users, and more advice.

==Usage==
* {{tlsc|Uw-copyright-new}}
* {{tlsc|Uw-copyright-new|article{{=}}''ArticleName''|comment{{=}}Final thoughts.|student{{=}}yes/no|bold{{=}}''N''}}

==Parameters==

There are three [[positional parameters|positional]] (unnamed) parameters (with named aliases), and two [[named parameters]]. All parameters are optional:

* {{para|1}} (alias: '''article''') – after the "welcome" sentence, appends: " Your addition to <nowiki>[[article title]] has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without [[Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission|permission]]</nowiki> from the copyright holder."
* {{para|2}} (alias: '''comment''') – adds extra free form text of your choice before the final "Thank you."
* {{para|3}} (alias:'''student''') – after "visit me at my talk page" appends: "or to reach out to your Wiki Ed content expert".

There are two named parameters for altering text style:{{efn|name="style params"}}
* {{para|bold|N}}, if ''N'' is a digit 1..5, the full text of the Nth bullet point is bolded.
* {{para|boldtext|''string of text''}}, the first occurrence of "string of text" in the body is bolded.{{efn|name="metachar exclusions"}}{{efn|name="patterns"}}

==See also==
* {{tl|Uw-copyright}}, a more strongly worded user warning
* {{tl|Welcome-copyright}}, combining a welcome message with a less strongly worded message on copyright
