It appears that you tried to change the title of {{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>#if:{{{1|}}}|[[:{{{1|}}}]]|a page}} by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into {{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>#if:{{{to|}}}|[[:{{{to|}}}]]|another page with a different name}}. This is known as a "[[Wikipedia:History merging|cut-and-paste move]]", splitting the [[Help:Page history|page history]] and violating our [[Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia|attribution requirements]]. Wikipedia software has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title along with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account has [[Wikipedia:User access levels#Autoconfirmed and confirmed users|10 edits and after 4 days have passed since the time of your first edit]], you can move an article using the [[Wikipedia:Moving a page|"Move" tab]] at the top of the page (the tab may be [[:File:Vector hidden move button.png|hidden in a dropdown menu]] for you). This both keeps the page history intact and automatically creates a [[Wikipedia:Redirect|redirect]] to the new title. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way, please [[WP:RMTR|request assistance]] from a [[WP:PMR|page mover]].
