{{For|the talk page notice that an article has been mentioned in the media|Template:Press}}<br />
<br />
== Usage ==<br />
The template requires one parameter, being the name of the franchise, series or media type that has a category for images or media files:<br />
:<nowiki>{</nowiki>{media | series_name }<nowiki>}</nowiki><br />
<br />
E.g. {{tlp|media|Contra (series)}} on [[:File:Contra (arcade game).png]]<br />
<br />
This template adds an image to the category "<nowiki>{{{1}}}</nowiki> media files", or if that does not exist then "<nowiki>{{{1}}}</nowiki> images", otherwise "<nowiki>{{{1}}}</nowiki> media", with the <nowiki>{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki> sort key.<br />
<br />
== Tracking category ==<br />
[[:Category:Pages using Template:Media with ambiguous media category]] contains pages using this template with an ambiguous category name ending in just "media" rather than "[[:Category:Wikipedia files|media files]]" (as opposed to [[:category:Mass media|mass media]]).<br />
