This template is used to produce a phonetic or phonemic representation (using the [[International Phonetic Alphabet|IPA]] system) of Polish words or sounds, using natural spelling to avoid the need to search for the correct phonetic symbols. The result is wikilinked to [[Help:IPA/Polish]]. Optionally, an audio file can also be specified.<br />

The following values have special meanings:<br />
*<code>-</code> (hyphen) for a space between words<br />
*<code>'</code> (apostrophe) for a primary stress mark (placed before the stressed syllable)<br />
*<code>,</code> (comma) for a secondary stress mark<br />
*<code>J</code> for a superscript j<br />
*<code>I</code> for non-syllabic i (normally spelt ''j'' in words like ''gaj'')<br />
*<code>U</code> for non-syllabic u (normally spelt ''ł'' in words like ''miał'')<br />
*<code>N</code> for a sound like English ''ng'' (in words like ''bank'')<br />
*<code>e1</code> for a more closed ''e'' sound (as when adjacent to soft consonants, in words like ''Maciej'')<br />
