==Usage==
Add this template to the top of the '''talk page''' associated with the page that is linked from or mentioned<ref name="mentioned">''[[Template:Press]]'' is preferred if the article is mentioned rather than linked, even for high-traffic sites.</ref> on a high traffic site. It may also be used if the talk page is linked or mentioned.

Use the syntax <code><nowiki>{{High traffic|date=|site=|url=|small=|page=|linktext|afterlinktext|date2=|site2=|page2=|...|date10=|site10=|page10=}}</nowiki></code>

Pages this template is used on are placed into [[:Category:Articles linked from high traffic sites]].

==Examples==

Common – one incoming link:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit}}</nowiki>}}

Multiple links from high-traffic sites:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit|date2={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url2=http://www.cnn.com/somepagehere.html|site2=CNN}}</nowiki>}}

Mentioned<ref name="mentioned" /> on a high-traffic site but not linked from it. Common on high-traffic news web sites:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit|linktext=mentioned|afterlinktext=on|notlinked=yes}}</nowiki>}}

Small version:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit|small=yes}}</nowiki>}}
{{Clear}}

Talk page linked from high-traffic site:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit|page=talk}}</nowiki>}}

Both article and talk page linked from high-traffic site:

{{demo|demo_kill_categories=true|<nowiki>{{high traffic|date={{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}|url=http://www.reddit.com/somepagehere.html|site=Reddit|page=both}}</nowiki>}}
