{{caution|{{tl|Flag IOC 2 athlete}} exists as an alternate version of this template. It is to be used for athletes competing in any other multi-sport games that are not the Olympics, Paralympics, or Pan American Games.}}

This template is used to simplify creation of [[Pan American Games]] results articles.
* flag icon for the athlete's nation before the name
* country code for the athlete's nation after the name
* wikilink from the country code to the appropriate "''Country'' at the ''year'' Pan American Games" article

==Usage==
'''
<nowiki>{{</nowiki>Flag PASO athlete|''athlete''|''code''|''games''}}
'''

; athlete : Any text string, usually a wikilinked name. Could also be a pair of names.
; code : Three letter code as per [[List of IOC country codes]]
; games : the year of the games

==Examples==

<nowiki>{{Flag PASO athlete | [[Jane Testcase]] | ARG | 2003 }}</nowiki>

: {{Flag PASO athlete | [[Jane Testcase]] | ARG | 2003 }}

<nowiki>{{Flag PASO athlete | [[Jane Testcase]] / [[Dave Testcase]] | USA | 2007 }}</nowiki>

: {{Flag PASO athlete | [[Jane Testcase]] / [[Dave Testcase]] | USA | 2007 }}

For comparison, the output of
<nowiki>{{Flag PASO medalist | [[Jane Testcase]] | ARG | 2003 }}</nowiki>
is:
: {{Flag PASO medalist | [[Jane Testcase]] | ARG | 2003 }}

== Supporting templates ==
