I can confirm that the call letters given to me by stations are the first three letters of my username, but I'm not sure how consistent the ship's make is in hails. I'm currently flying an Asp Explorer (Lakon), and have been for some time, but I get hailed with, "DeLacy, etc, etc, etc" as often as I do "Lakon, etc, etc, etc." Great find on the call letters, though; as often as I've heard it, it never even occurred to me that that's what it is!
