As far as a weapon goes though, you'd be better off trying to get a CMDR to overheat by turning off your thrusters and letting him repeatedly fire his plasma accelerators at you. More effective and probably about as safe.

NPC bots aren't affected by heat, and it doesn't affect players much either. Maybe 2.4 will change both and increase the heat dealt out by this long range handwarmer ray.
