In my experience, the KWS is never worth equipping. Even leaving aside that bounty hunting is arguably the worst paying job these days (Beaten maybe only by mercenary work, with the inability to stack massacres and the massive durability buff to enemies in CZs) the extra credits gained from running a kill warrant scan are minimal. An extra ~50K credits on a 200K bounty is not much, and doesn't change the fact that ~250K is pennies in this game, especially compared to what miners can make. Maybe if this was a default ship function like the discovery scanner it would be acceptable, but having to waste a utility slot that could be better used for something to make your ship stronger for a device that will likely take hours to even pay for itself? Hard Pass.
