New page

Ships have a fixed number of hard-points, so there is nothing you can do to increase them without buying a different ship. As to good ships for combat under 100k... Look for the [[Eagle MkII]], it's a 45k fighter (the cheapest dedicated combat vessel right now) with the highest manoeuvrability in the game. With the remaining 50k, you can upgrade your weapons (I like two pulse lasers and a multi-cannon) and buy gimballed versions of all three. You should also look at a better [[Power Distributor]] and an upgraded [[Power Plant]].

Just remember that the listed costs here are for a basic version of each ship. The Eagle might cost 44.8k from a station, but you can easily spend another 2-Million on upgrades. It's also not in your best interests to upgrade everything to A-rated or you'll run out of power and weigh down your ship (D-rated gear is usually the lightest, which makes you faster and increases your jump range) except for your power plant and power distributor.
