The terms "liberal" and "conservative" are always changing, and not all liberals and all conservatives are the same, except for in one way: they are all people.

This Shadow President lady is correct when she says that people naturally edge towards evil. Selfishness is inherent to the nature of all human beings. If we were naturally good, we would not need a government to keep us in check. But you have to realize that we aren't.

Both conservatives and liberals will try to tell you otherwise. They might say "the government should leave us alone, because we won't do anything bad", or they might say "the government should give everyone free stuff because if they do we'll keep working even though we don't need to."

Both conservatives and liberals will try to tell you that the other side, not their side, is the selfish one. They will say that "they want to take all your stuff away because they are selfish", or "they are hogging all that money because they are selfish."

In truth they're both right. Do you really think Socialism came about because people were "altruistic"? No. Socialism began to rise in the 1900s not because people were becoming woke to Social injustice all around them. Its because the poor people got jealous of the rich people, so they killed them and stole their stuff. Meanwhile what about Capitalism? It is the most successful economic ideology ever, and why is that? What is the lifeblood of Capitalism? I'll give you a hint: it abounds everywhere. Selfishness.

Fundamentally conservatism and liberalism are actually very similar, more similar than anybody wants to admit because they hate the other side so much. Instead we deflect and point fingers... Western Civilization is doomed. We'll be lucky if we get another century, I definitely wouldn't count on the United States surviving as the Federation 1000 years from now.
