Converted my mining Dropship to a Planatary Assault Boat for Horizons and it is amazing.

With all of the harpoints on the underside all it takes is some turreted multicannons and lasers and a large turreted cannon to feel like you're flying an AC130 raining hell on any surface installations.

And with all the internals you can put a few shield cells and big shields to be nice and tanky... and still have plenty of room for an SRV bay.
