New page

It doesn't really seem to be easy to compare to any historical polity, unlike the Alliance or the Federation. Instead it's a weird mix of Roman, Ottoman and British Empires, with the rich living the life of Monaco billionaires - so rich and decadent they barely know what to do with themselves. And the poor crushed by their Feudal obligations.

Also an odd American twist of he poor being brainwashed that the reason they are poor and not fabulously wealthy is that they aren't good enough and need to work harder - hence the voluntary slavery to get out of debt. But unlike the US it is ''extremely'' conservative (in the non-political sense) and heavily class-stratisified, meaning that the poor could never work their way up anyway - you have to be born into wealth to be accepted by society. There's no place for commoners here, even extremely rich and talented ones.
