All you have to do is withstand the attack, make your FSD jump and then quickly exit the game. I'm a cargo hauler and always run and never fight. My policy for when I'm attacked is fair. When an aggressive player interdicts me, I run. If they interdict me immediately again for a second time, I re-charge my shields during interdiction process and then I run. A third time, I re-charge my shields during interdiction process and then I run. A fourth time in succession, I run and then as soon as I jump to super-cruise I log off. No penalty, no 15 second countdown, I'm gone.

I've given the attacker 4 opportunities to destroy me and they have failed. At this point they are wasting my time (my first encounter went late into the night and I work in the morning). I had no weapons to fight back with and the other player wouldn't let it go. That's when I decided that it is completely honorable to exit after giving the person 4 attempts to kill me. If they can't take out a cargo hauler with D rated shields and no weapons in four consecutive attempts... well, I won't let you waste any more of my precious time.
