Sniping, I suppose. The ability to reach out and touch someone at full DPS over 4500m away (requiring cannon long range and scanner range mod) means you could potentially hit them without them ever seeing you, ''without'' having to use silent running.

The target would have to be big and slow though, 'coz even with a class 5 long range mod that shell's going to take time to get there. But mostly, since supercruise usually drops you close to a target (and NPCs are spawned not far away), I don't think I could get that working in the current meta.
