Sothis is the terminus of the Sirius Corporation colonial network extending from the Core Systems within the Inner Orion Spur. The eight Sirius colonies that make up the network were established in March 3301 to exploit a number of resource-rich worlds discovered just beyond the fringe of inhabited space. Since then, Sothis has become a popular tourist destination and smuggling hub, and is also known for its plentiful Federal Navy missions. Newholm Station in Sothis is the exclusive purveyor of the Rare Commodity Sothis Crystalline Gold. In April 3304, the system was expanded with three additional facilities.<br />
