Explain effects on similarly named subjects. Straightforward corrections can use the normal Move action where available; discuss disputed or extensive renames before acting.

== Preserve history and navigation ==
Move the page rather than copying its text to a new title and deleting the original. Check the destination before overwriting anything. Keep useful old names as redirects and update double redirects, infoboxes, navigation templates and other affected links.

== Restricted moves ==
Ask a local administrator when protection or an existing destination prevents a legitimate move. Give the exact titles and rationale. A move-request template does not perform the move or grant additional access. See [[Project:Article titles]].

[[Project:Editorial guidance|Editorial guidance directory]]
