Appointed by Hudson in June 3301, Mitchell was previously a wealthy businessman who rose from humble beginnings as a traveling salesman to President of Sales at Reyan BPS. Hudson selected Mitchell for the office of Vice President due to his experience in dealing with Federal frontier worlds, where he was well-liked. On the eve of the [[Galactic Summit]] in 3307, it was observed that Mitchell appeared to be positioning himself to run in the 3309 presidential election after Hudson's term elapsed.

Brad Mitchell has a good reputation for getting things done, but has made enemies along the way. Having spent much of his early adult life travelling throughout [[Federation|Federal]] space on behalf of various interstellar corporations, the new VP is well versed in the needs of the Federal frontier systems, and he is well liked in those systems.
