if tried them out a bit and as far as i can tell these torpedos act exactly like standard seeker missles. they look the same, sound the same and move the same way and no they are not affected by chaff. but.. still not worth it. 1 or 2 "rockets" for such a crazy amount of money is simply damn underpowered since nearly every fucking ship has point defense installed. the damage is extremely unreliable and they dont seem to do any damage to shields at all. plus you cant even reload with materials. better go for some more small multicannons instead of this garbage.

seriously, i think torpedos were impletemented as some kind of desperation weapon, the ace you can pull when all else fails so you can maybe save your ass. the problem is that the weapon handles too "normal" and is way too easy to counter. like i said: one damn point defense and your "ace" does basicly nothing wile the enemy just laughs at your face for being the next noob trying to "justify" the existance of crappy torpedos. to come to a point: instead of this, they should have added some kind of direct hit overcharge module with some sort of 30 - 60 minute cooldown to disable and damage an enemies ship just so much that you can take your time to flee or turn tables.
