One thing of note about the cockpit, I know everyone hates docking computers, but when your canopy breaks - and especially on the Kraits where it basically takes out the ENTIRE canopy in one piece - it can save your life.  Just limp back to 7500 and let the computer handle everything else.

And with the power that Kraits have lying around, they can definately afford it.  But I would leave it out of any exploration build.
