The Cobra MkIII can easily take down an Eagle, since the latter is so squishy. Also lacking a second medium hardpoint means the Eagle is either going to have to get very lucky and finish the fight quick, or die trying. Very few Eagles are outfitted sufficently to be much of a threat to almost any Cobra. A well outfitted Cobra is quite capable of tearing Eagles to shreads by the handful.
