Absolutely the best ship for exploration and/or passenger missions. Equipped with a 6C 1st Class Passenger Cabin, 3A shield generators, generally lighter modules and some tweaking from Felicity Farseer I was able to squeeze 29,91LY of jumprange out of it. I even fitted a 5A fuel scoop into it to cut the refueling breaks as short as possible. That really helps with traversing sections with lesser star density like the upper or lower plains of the galactic disc or the more open space between spiral arms.

The only sacrifice I had to make, was removing all weapons - but since deep space exploration takes you into unpopulated (and therefore enemyless) areas, they're rendered useless anyway. Even in case someone would FDSI me, the ASP's boosting speed is high enough to escape most ships and make it back into supercruise.

A word of warning though for those who think about travelling 5.000+ lightyears: take an AFMU with you. You don't want the stars to slowly cook your modules while you're somewhere on the ass-end of the milkyway.
