{{Quote|These organisms are so called because of their distinctive collar.|In-Game Description}}
A '''Collared Pod''' is a non-sentient, spacefaring entity that inhabits [[Lagrange Cloud]]s. It appears to be a plant-like organism with multiple bioluminescent spots on either side of its body. While it does not visibly react to light, if a [[Ships|ship]] approaches it, it will constantly alter its position so that one of its sides is facing the ship.<ref name="Trifid Leaf">[https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/a0wkix/spoiler_something_strange_is_found_again_in_the/ r/EliteDangerous: Something strange is found, again, in the beta.
