I'm not sure what to make of the new mining. I've only watched the videos and not tried it. It seems more engaging, but also more complicated and hence more time-consuming.
But also there were reports that it's easy to make 5M an hour. That beats trading and passengers and definitely beats exploration.
Yes, I know that with missions, trading and passengers can rake in 50M an hour. But there are also loads of mining missions too, and I'm being offered crazy money - 4.2M for 36T of osmium and stuff like that.
