I use prospector limpets more like darts i tag rocks with. I shoot one, lock onto it, shoot another and wait till the first one hits, when it does, i decide whether or not i like the composition then move on to the second one i shot. I repeat this as i am flying to the roids themselves to not waste time... i find they travel round 150m/s or 175m/s so u can actaully travel faster than them. The key to all this is multiple prospector limpets allow you to see exactly what you are getting into before you need to get close enough to mine a chunk. while u may need to carry more limpets to do this, it is entirely worth it.
